And this comes exactly when the entire world was preparing for a bloody catfight to be aired live on 'The Late Show With David Letterman'! A few days ago, the TV host announced that he plans to get the two socialites, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie together on the same set and force them to mend things between them.
It seems that the show, scheduled to go on air sometime in September, might not have the same impact as expected after all.
Paris Hilton just confessed that she would just love to renew her friendship to Nicole, but that she is utterly afraid to pick up the phone and call her.
'Nicole and I are going through something right now, but I love her. She's like that sister to me, so hopefully we'll work something out. I'm scared [to call her]. It's just weird and hard when you haven't spoken for so long. I don't know what would happen. I'm going to wait a while', said the heiress.
This statement is rather shocking, taking into consideration that it was Paris herself the one who seemed the most determined out of the two feuding former friends. But it could be read in the light of her latest romance: Paris and long term boyfriend Stavros just got together again.
Miss Hilton concluded her public statement by saying 'I've known her [Nicole], like, 20 years and the whole thing is ridiculous'. Meanwhile, the situation between the two girls remains the same, with them still refusing to speak to each other on the set of 'The Simple Life'.
