Space lovers, you’re in for a treat! Vito Technology is out with a new application for iPhone and iPad that details the most spectacular planet from our solar system, in the most spectacular way possible.

Solar Walk – Saturn is a lite version of Vito’s immensely popular Solar Walk series of apps which focuses on the beautiful ringed-planet, Saturn, and its moons, Mimas, Enceladus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan, Hyperion, and Iapetus.

You can travel between Saturn and its moons, as well as the entire solar system, complete with a galaxy view. You have the option to speed up the time, and discover intricate astrophysical relations.

Every selected object has an Information tab that brings up data like size, mass, orbital velocity, history of missions, and structural layers of planets and their atmospheres. Swipe with your finger to see all the celestial bodies from any angle.

The 3D Mode is a really nice touch. If you have a pair of 3D glasses lying around, “you’re in for a treat,” says Vito.

Solar Walk – Saturn requires no Internet connection and supports US English, Russian, Chinese Simple (HANS), German, Italian, Japanese, French, Spanish, Korean, and Traditional Chinese.

It works with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later. The app weighs in at 368 MB, so you’d better download this one via iTunes. The download link can be found past the key features list.

Needless to point out, this app is a treasure trove of information for cosmos aficionados.

• GALAXY view – absolutely magical zoom out to view the whole galaxy option. • TIME MACHINE – set any date you want including even minutes and take a travel through space and time. • INFO – general info, its name, its mass, radius, distance to the sun, internal structure with the picture and science missions. • MOONS – observe how many moons Saturn has and their track around the planet. Select one of the moons and learn. • MIRRORING – wirelessly mirror the screen to an Apple TV 2. • 3D MODE – to enjoy the view on 3D TV Download Solar Walk - Saturn (Free)
