Information about the Castor has been quite elusive, so far

Earlier this month I brought you the first information about a purported Sony tablet which was code-named Castor.

The device was rumored to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM897AB SoC just like the upcoming Sirius smartphone. The tablet was expected to be made available in both 4G LTE and Wi-Fi versions.

Now a new Sony device, code-named TM-0043-BV with LTE has been spotted paying a visit at the FCC and according to tips (via GSMInsider) this is actually Sony’s new flagship tablet, the Castor.

Apparently, the tablet is headed for the Japanese market, somewhere during the second quarter of the year, but there’s hope we might end up seeing the tablet on the American market too.

As previous leaks indicate, Sony Castor is expected to make an appearance at MWC 2014 in Barcelona next month, but by then we should know more in terms of specifications. Will the Sony Castor prove to be Xperia Tablet Z’s successor?
