Roku wants to arrive in the homes of us all and its latest weapon is the just announced Roku LT, which doesn't rely only on its purple good looks to achieve this, but also on the $50 (€34) price tag.

So how does Roku managed to achieve this price tag?

The answer is simple. It have up on almost all the extra features of the Roku 2 HD such as Ethernet, SD card slot, and Bluetooth and instead uses only Wi-Fi to stream 720p content to the TV.

Despite this change, users still get all the usual channels of regular Roku players, such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, and Pandora radio, and soon will also receive HBO Go support.

The service will arrive just the next month, together with the Roku LT media streamer, and still requires authenticating the user to a legacy cable TV provider, but it sure sounds like a nice new feature.
