A Labrador puppy named Fudge somehow made an amazing recovery following its swallowing a sewing needle that eventually pierced her spinal cord.

The dog's owner explains that Fudge first started feeling ill when the two of them were out for a walk. After the pooch was rushed to the Royal Veterinary College in Hertfordshire, the cause of her pain was quickly discovered.

Daily Mail says that the veterinarians who saved Fudge's life had to perform a 3-hour-long surgery, but that they eventually managed to remove the 1.5 inch (roughly 3.8 centimeters) needle.

“You don't expect to see a dog with a needle in their spinal cord so we were very shocked, it was quite extraordinary,” one of the vets told members of the press.

By the looks of it, 8-month-old Fudge now finds herself in perfectly good health.
