14 DAY TRIAL // baKno has announced PunkTrader, a stock trading game that tests players' trading skills using real historical stock market price movements. The title picks one of the 20 most actively traded stocks and takes the gamer to 9:30 am Wall-Street time at the beginning of a random trading day within the last five years, challenging them to make the most of their trades, baKno's description reveals. Don't expect to gaze in awe at the game's graphics, though.
In the title, players will continuously battle the price movements of the stock by buying and selling shares at will. Naturally, their sole objective is to make a profit. Speaking of money, gamers can play PunkTrader using baKno's unique Game Coin system.
Players of baKno's games for Mac can benefit from the ability to purchase (virtual) coins, which they can use whenever their game trial expires. The "pay per play" solution is an alternative to purchasing a traditional shareware license, baKno claims.
According to the company, "Game coins are the same old way to pay for gaming at the arcade. An alternative way to pay as you play instead of purchasing a full license, and a convenient way to fully try all our games."
The game developer notes that, "After you purchase coins, you will receive an email with a Key Code to be entered on your game exactly as when you purchase a license. This key code will unlock the same amount of plays as coins purchased."
PunkTrader minimum requirements include Mac OS X 10.2 or higher and 23 MB of available hard drive space. The title is a Universal Binary, compatible with PowerPC and Intel machines.
