On his official site Thomas Jane declared he accepted to retake the Punisher part for a future sequel. He stated that the movie is still in the first project phase but has already received the studio's green light.

The first Punisher movie thrilled the comics fan base and did well at the B.O., so the studio's intention for a sequel is no surprise. The original story is about a FBI agent, Frank Castle, whose family is killed by the mafia.

After this trauma, he becomes the Punisher, a dark law enforcer with no pity and no second thoughts on the hunt for the ones involved in murdering his family.

For his role as Frank Castle, Jane underwent extensive training with former Navy SEALS. Of course he manages to complete his revenge by the end of the movie, but as the Punisher comic books are many and have various subjects, a brand new story will be easy to find.

The one in charge with the subject is Jonathan Hensleigh, also writer of the first Punisher movie, Armageddon and Jumanji.

After the 2004 Punisher, Thomas Jane appeared in action movies, such as Killshot and is presently filming for The Tripper (David Arquette's horror movie about a group of friends attacked in a remote place by a deranged killer).
