Punches, Kicks and Pamela Anderson at the VMAs

Man, I'm telling you, this year's VMAs rocked! And in saying that, I was trying to sound as ironic as possible without actually having to set up a pop-up saying "it should have been about the music" and trying to hack into the MTV site to post it on top of all their VMA coverage.

The fact was, there was a lot more going on in Vegas than just singing - and even in the singing department, there were some things that were a little off. And no, I will not mention Britney Spears since I suppose we're all pretty much tired of being told how badly she sucked - as if that came as a surprise to anyone. The fact is, this year, the big MTV show appeared to be much more about the gossip and the "who got what from whom" rather than the music and the show itself.

And, just in case you were wondering, there was some trouble out there - more trouble than Britney sucking and Kanye proving to us all again that he's just a crybaby who likes to bitch off and see himself as the victim of a universal monster plot to get him. And just to spark up your interest, I'll tell you the punching took place between two of our favorite troublemaking rockers, and was all for the love of princess Pam and her lovely boobies. I was kidding about the boobies - but Kid Rock and Tommy Lee did get physical and ended up being thrown out of the room, although Rock was eventually allowed back in.

But the fact is, it wasn't pretty. Rap producer Rich Nice witnessed the whole scuffle and said that "it looked like Tommy Lee initiated it because Kid Rock was ignoring him. And Tommy Lee kind of antagonized him. And then when Tommy Lee stood up, it looked a little weird, like 'Yo, what?"'When Tommy stands up is when Kid hit him the first time with a backhand," Nice continued. "And then Tommy Lee looked like he was trying to get at him to aggressively retaliate and then Kid Rock hits Tommy Lee again".

Well, way to go Rock! Someone was bound to put Tommy in his place, although I'm not sure this was the best place to do it. The fact is, these two are pretty much birds of a feather, but I feel sort of relieved that it was Kid Rock doing the punching and not the other way around - we're all way too tired of Tommy Lee's jonesing around like he owns the world and he's some sort of sex god.

And as far as Pam is concerned, things are quite simple: she is not married to either of these guys anymore (although Tommy did have his hands all over her boobs just a few hours earlier), and I suppose these "it-feels-like-I'm-in-highschool-again" boy fights probably make her feel younger. So she just goes along with it.

And let's face it, it wasn't that bad that Tommy Lee was thrown out of the room, seeing how if he had stayed he would probably have ended up having sex on stage or something. No, that's not a joke either - he actually did that a few days ago in a restaurant, in full view of all those who were brave enough to actually watch. And, really, I'd much rather watch Britney tank than Tommy Lee have sex. Now that would be a horrible sight for you!
