Pulse News 3.0.1 is out with a bunch of new features for those who enjoy reading the news on their iDevices, including the new iPad mini. Pulse News has been optimized for the diminutive tablet PC, and now features unlimited pages. More, below.

Alphonso Labs Inc. says the new Pulse News in the iTunes App Store has been optimized for the iPad Mini.

A few bug fixes and brand spanking new features from Pulse 3.0 make Pulse News 3.0.1 “a fully redesigned app that is invigorated, alive, bolder and better than ever before,” according to the developers.

For those who didn’t get around to updating Pulse to version 3.0 when it rolled out earlier this week, the latest update includes the Unlimited Pages feature which allows users to add as many sources as they want to follow.

The update further improves navigation, allowing users to access any page, settings, catalog and their saved stories by means of a new sidebar.

The search function has been enhanced to bring up results for any website, person, brand or topic. The search now supports services like Tumblr, Youtube, Reddit, Facebook, Google, Flickr, Blekko, and others.

Customization has gotten simpler. Users can employ the Edit button on every page to quickly tailor the app to their needs.

Finally, Pulse now boasts infinite scrolling capabilities - “Keep swiping horizontally to read as many stories as you want from any source in Pulse,” says Alphonso Labs Inc.

An Apple Design Award Winner in 2011, “Pulse brings all your favorite blogs, magazines, social networks and newspapers in one place for FREE. Exciting to use, quick to read, ready to share,” according to its creators.

Pulse 3.0.1 is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. The app requires iOS 5.0 or later to run and displays full-screen on the new iPhone 5.
