14 DAY TRIAL // The town of El Vendrell in northeastern Spain has ended up making international headlines after installing a public toilet intended for man's best friend.
The toilet, a photo of which is available above, is the creation of dog-lover Enric Girona, who gave it his best when designing and piecing it together.
This toilet comprises two sections, i.e. a potty and a urinal. Thus, dogs are supposed to poop in a hole that their owners must expose by lifting a lid, and pee over a platform that has holes poked in it.
As detailed to Oddity Central, the toilet is connected to the town's sewer system, and can even be flushed. This means that the dogs that use it can sleep at night knowing that they have helped keep their town clean.
Not at all surprisingly, it looks like not everybody is jumping for joy at the thought that the town of El Vendrell has spent money on installing this public toilet for dogs.
Thus, there are some who believe that it would have been better if town officials invested in dog parks instead. Others say that they are quite thrilled about the toilet, just as long as their pets can use it for free.
Commenting on his decision to create this innovative dog toilet, Enric Girona says, “Over the years, I’ve seen that if you train and raise dogs well, these animals can be just like humans.”
