Public clouds are the sort of large-scale data centers that allow anyone and everyone to work online, without storing their videos or other files on their PCs. India seems to like the idea a lot.

Cloud computing, storage and print services and IaaS (infrastructure as a service) have all been progressing well in that country. According to analysts, the public cloud service will grow by 37.5% this year (2013).

That would put the total at around $434 million, or €320 million according to exchange rates. Also, from 2013 to 2017, the market will go all the way to $4.2 billion / €3.1 billion. Business Process as a Service (BpaaS) and software as a service (SaaS) will especially progress.

"We predict high demand for SaaS, IaaS, and the services supporting the adoption of these key cloud offerings through our forecast period of 2011 through 2017," said Ed Anderson, research director at Gartner.
