Florida state records suggest the building isn't actually owned by Psystar

Last week, news broke out that Apple was suing Psystar for copyright infringement, over the latter's Mac clones which ran modified versions of Mac OS X Leopard. Internet real estate sites reveal now that the building that houses Psystar is up for sale.

"If Mac clone maker Psystar manages to survive what's sure to be an expensive copyright battle with Apple over its right to sell Mac clones, the company may need to find new headquarters - again," InformationWeek reports. "Internet real estate sites show that the building that houses Psystar - a Doral, Fla., property that is essentially a distribution warehouse - is on the market for $4.6 million," McDougall reports.

Still, the ad for the property makes absolutely no mention of Psystar, but it does note that it's a 47,000 sq. ft. "warehouse/office building" that is "priced for quick sale." The ad also contains information about the included utilities, such as "space for bulk, rack and bin storage, aisle space, receiving and shipping space, packing and crating space, and office space with bathrooms," the report notes. "In other words, it's perfect for assembling and shipping computers," McDougall says.

Although Florida state records say that the property is currently owned by Constructora Canahuati, the company has no apparent connection to Psystar, it is noted in the same report.

Most noteworthy is the fact that Psystar has moved its headquarters multiple times in the past, while the company has been "terminated" by its credit card payment processor. Stephen Goodrich, the chief executive of the Portland, Maine-based credit card payment processor said that, "in its application to PowerPay, Psystar stated it expected to process a specific amount of credit card transactions per month, and that the product or service being sold was 'consulting for information and communication solutions'."

As far as its moving habits go, Psystar has had several addresses since it first appeared in the news back in April. 112th Street in Miami was Psystar's initial address. The Mac cloner then switched to two different locations: first to NW 28th St. in Doral, Fla., and then it settled in building number 10475.
