Proxmox VE (Virtual Environment), an easy to use open source virtualization platform for running Virtual Appliances and Virtual Machines, is now at version 2.0.

Proxmox VE 2.0 is finally available, after one Beta and one Release Candidate. It's safe to say that it features a lot of improvements and major updates.

Highlights of Proxmox VE 2.0:

· Linux kernel 2.6.32; · The distribution is based on Debian Squeeze; · A complete new GUI was implemented, based on Ext JS 4 JavaScript framework; · Support for multiple authentication sources (MS ADS, LDAP, Linux PAM, Proxmox VE authentication) was added; · Resource agents for KVM and OpenVZ have been added; · "Backup Now" can now be done via GUI; · All jobs can be monitored as “Recent tasks”; · High Availability Cluster support for KVM guests and OpenVZ containers.
