Activision is rumored to be preparing to reveal Prototype 2, the sequel to 2009's impressive third person title, which will be made at the upcoming Spike Video Game Awards.

The VGAs are slowly approaching their beginning, on December 11, so speculations about the surprise announcements are beginning to heat up, with massive rumors appearing left and right.

These are also fueled by new teaser websites, set up by game publishers that want to get the hype going before the actual premiere of the Spike TV VGAs.

Activision is the latest company to join the trend, and has just revealed a mysterious site called Murder Your Maker.

As of yet, the site only features the back of a bald man's head, so you can't really draw any conclusion as of yet.

Still, this hasn't stopped people from speculating that Prototype 2 is the game being teased.

Activision launched Prototype back in the summer of 2009, a title that portrayed Alex Mercer, who, through some mysterious circumstances, gained impressive super powers and started murdering almost anyone in his sight.

The story was a bit complicated, but the Murder Your Maker title might hint at the next step in Mercer's quest for revenge.

Still, the back of the bald man is pretty much unrelated to Prototype, or at least its main protagonist, as Mercer wore just a hoodie in the original game, and never really showed his appearance.

As of yet, Activision declined to comment on the Murder Your Maker website, nor on the possibility of a Prototype 2.

Prototype was originally launched for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and gained pretty decent reviews, even if it appeared almost at the same time as inFamous, another third person, open-world super hero title.

Are you up for a sequel to Prototype or perhaps a brand new IP from Activision might be a better idea than a new adventure starring Alex Mercer? Share your thoughts below.
