Highlights of Percona XtraBackup 2.1.0 Alpha 1:
• Support for Compact Backups has been integrated in Percona XtraBackup for MySQL; • Encrypted Backups have been implemented; • Innobackupex now uses the Perl's DBD::MySQL package; • Support for InnoDB 5.0 and InnoDB 5.1-builtin has been implemented; • The option –remote-host has been completely removed from the Percona XtraBackup for MySQL 2.1 branch; • Innobackupex now supports empty arguments in the --password option.
