SafetyWeb, an online service that is trying to help parents guard their children safe online, recently announced the compatiility of its services with iPhone and Android devices. The new SafetyWeb applications for iPhone and Android offer parents the ability to guard their children from online abuse. It also provides parents with a record of their children's online activity on their smartphone devices.

"Now that we've extended SafetyWeb onto mobile devices, parents can always be aware of potential online threats to their children – and receive alerts in the palm of their hand," said Geoffrey Arone, co-founder of SafetyWeb.

Further, the company also integrated mobile phone data into its monitoring algorithms, thanks to its newly acquired Odojo, which was bought in July 2010. Odojo's technology, SafetyWeb enables parents the ability to track children's texting activity, influxes of mobile activity and potential dangers.  "Kids are constantly plugged in, and the tools we provide help parents protect their kids' safety, privacy and reputation. By integrating Odojo's technology, we can offer mobile phone monitoring – which is important because of how frequently kids use their phones," said Michael Clark, co-founder of SafetyWeb. "Bullying is no longer limited to the playground or classroom, and our mission is to plug parents in to where it's happening – whether it's online or via text message."  SafetyWeb is one of the first services that provide parents with relevant data about their children's online activity. The company also stated that it will soon incorporate data into their safety service from gaming consoles and geo-location services. The developer offer its services to parents for $10/month or $100/year.

The company's services are provided under the form of easy-to-read weekly reports on children's online activity. Parents will also benefit from the 24-hour access to website services. It seems that SafetyWeb had some success as over 2,500 affiliates are already distributing the application since its launch.
