ProteMac has released ProteMac Meter 1.1, an update to its network traffic logger that allows users of OS X 10.4 (or later) to monitor all Internet and network traffic on their computers. Version 1.1 adds Full Traffic Chart, Complete Uninstall script, date and time localization and more.

Users of ProteMac Meter can get information such as what was transmitted and where, for a more accurate view of the Internet experience. The software deals with all traffic initiated by software applications, services, websites, etc. and is a must-have for security-aware users, the company says, as it has the capability to audit what flows in and out of every piece of software, using real-time processes (applications and services) monitoring, showing the history of every network activity. Each connection is also detailed. Users can gain rapid knowledge of stuff like application network connections, host availability, remote host name, amounts of incoming and outgoing traffic through connection or application, timestamps of the first and last activity, application that initiated or accepted this connection, full path to the application the process belongs to, and more.

Viewing established connections, network and per application traffic over a certain period, setting up various notifications are just some of the features ProteMac Meter boasts (for experienced users). Other features include the ability to display chart and table of the real time activity of a network application or connection, real time network traffic usage for each application on your Mac, real time network traffic summary for your Mac and real time network speed for your Mac. The software also provides clear graphical and numerical network traffic details, while each session, including start/stop time, application, remote address/port, total transferred bytes and average speed, is logged. Lastly, ProteMac Meter monitors multiple network connection interfaces simultaneously.

As noted above, ProteMac Meter 1.1 adds full Traffic Chart, a Complete Uninstall script, but also fixes CPU Grow, the button for application chart window and some misc bugs. The software is also date & time-aware now, wherever you live. To download ProteMac Meter (Universal, Mac OS X 10.4 or later), visit this address.
