Proporta's Crystal Case: Polycarbonate Shield for Your Eee PC

- The polycarbonate plastic shell is extremely fashionable

By: Bogdan Botezatu, Hardware Editor

The Eee PC is surely one of the best picks if you want to go along with an ultra-portable, sleek mobile solution. Its miniature size and the neat design make it the perfect companion for an average computer user, yet it is extremely
fragile, and a sudden shock could kill it.

Proporta comes to the rescue with its new lineup of Crystal Cases for the Eee PC. Initially designed for fully-fledged notebooks, the new offering is especially tailored to accommodate the miniature 7-inch PC, and give it an extra layer of physical protection. According to the manufacturer, a Crystal Case-equipped Eee PC is more difficult to destroy, and can be carried even in rucksacks or bags.

According to the company, the Eee PC enclosure is a completely clear, shatterproof case built from polycarbonate plastic. The shell sports side cutouts that let users easily access all the notebook's ports, as well as a special ventilation hole for the fan. Moreover, the Crystal Case comes with a "secure closure catch" as well as with a 360-degree double hinge that allows the notebook to have its lid open at any desired angle.

"We only use the best at Proporta - the Proporta Crystal Case is made from the same type of durable and scratch resistant polycarbonate plastic that's used to make protective eyewear no less. If it's good enough for your peepers, then it's good enough for us (and of course your device too)," reads the product's page.

The stylish enclosure is more than a shock-absorbing shell. The enclosure is also extremely fashionable and will add a glossy finish from the reflections off the translucent case. The Crystal Case is available for purchase directly from the Proporta website, and it comes with an estimative price tag of $39.
