Nonprofit organizations lured by YouTube

YouTube is one of the best ways to promote your story because it has an impressive audience but is not always an easy thing to be promoted through the online video sharing service. In case you have a nonprofit organization, you're a little bit luckier because YouTube has a special campaign which invites this type of organization to create a video channel on the Google product. Moreover, the first 300 nonprofits which will register for YouTube will receive a video camera provided by the campaign's sponsors, PureDigital and Casio.

"Does your organization have a compelling story to tell? Do you want to connect with your supporters, volunteers, and donors but don't have the funds to launch expensive outreach campaigns?" YouTube wrote on the official page of the campaign. "YouTube can help. Video is a powerful way to show your organization's impact and needs, and with a designated "Nonprofit" channel on YouTube, you can deliver your message to the world's largest online video community."

The bad thing is that this YouTube function is available only to the US nonprofits but the parent company didn't say a thing about a potential expansion of the feature in other countries. According to the YouTube team, no less than 13 nonprofit organizations already registered for the service so go over there and post your information. Keep in mind that you have to provide all your private details but I'm sure this is not a problem.

"Several nonprofits are already using YouTube in their outreach; in fact, 13 of them helped us launch the program today and we're featuring videos from each of them right now on our home page. Nonprofit organizations have also used YouTube to run video contests, broadcast celebrity endorsements and launch innovative video campaigns inspiring people to produce videos on the issues they care about," the YouTube team posted on the official blog of the technology.
