Less showy than the American version, this one is also more helpful

Ridley Scott and “Alien” fans must feel like Christmas has come early. After the release of the new US theatrical trailer, a new promo clip for the film has been launched, mostly for audiences in the UK.

While it's less showy, huge and impressive than the one we told you about yesterday, this newly released video actually makes more sense, especially for those who aren't that familiar with “Alien” mythology.

Yesterday's clip helped create an impression, a certain sense of terrible danger and emergency, without saying too much about what was going on; the new trailer actually takes the time to lay out the plot in general strokes.

You can see it in full above.

“Prometheus,” often described as an “Alien” prequel, stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, and Patrick Wilson, among others.

It will be out in theaters on June 8, 2012, on 3D screens in select locations.
