Once again showing its expertise in all matters of hardware cooling, Prolimatech has finished up the development of its new Megahalems CPU cooling module, one that will come next month.

The major CPU releases have come and gone, for now, leaving it to makers of assorted products to carry on the torch, or the metaphorical freeze ray at least.

While the chips themselves are busy working all the hardware of a PC to the limit, it falls to coolers to make sure nothing goes up or down in flames.

Of course, CPUs all come with their default heatsink plus fan solution, but that will never be enough for enthusiasts.

Prolimatech, being one of the companies that has been in the cooling industry for years, naturally already has a full range of solutions.

Nevertheless, there is always room for more, made all the more obvious by how the outfit just unveiled its newest offer for both Intel and AMD chips.

It is the latest in the Megahalems line and bears the name of Black Series Megahalems, its namesake being the black coating on the heatsink.

For those that want the specifics, the newcomer supports Intel LGA 1155, LGA 775, LGA 1156 and LGA 1366 CPUs, as well as AM2, AM2+ and AM3 central processing units from Advanced Micro Devices.

The nickel-plated heatpipes measure 6mm in thickness each, while the fans attached can have a diameter of 120mm or 140mm.

All in all, the product measures 130 (L) x 74 (W) x 158.7 (H) mm and is the third revision of the original Megahalems, one whose price will be of 54.90 Euro.

Speaking of pricing and availability, reports say that shipments will commence on July 1, 2011. No doubt some sort of competition will start against more affordable models like the Scythe Mugen 3.
