Video game developer Press Play and publisher Microsoft announces that it is working on a new title called Project Totem, which is set to be launched later during this year on the Xbox One next gen console and on the older 360.

The team is best known for creating Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, which has been well received by both fans and by critics.

Project Totem is designed to offer a platforming experience that is both playful and precise and allows gamers to control two totem pole pieces using one standard controller.

The game will include both a single player campaign and local couch based multiplayer that will ask gamers to work together in order to progress.

The entire experience was inspired by the childhood gaming time that developer brother Asger Strandby, the game director, and Bo Strandby, the lead designer, have spent together.

Rune Dittmer, the studio director at Press Play, is quoted by AllGamesBeta as stating that, "It is one of those games, where the basic premise is hard to describe, but once you have the controller in your hand, it is so obviously fun that you immediately get it. So when Asger and Bo showed us the prototype at a party, it was a no-brainer to give them some time to elaborate on the core concept. And now a year later we are proud to announce Press Play’s second game for Xbox One."
