It doesn't seem to use the controversial hamburger menu

Earlier this year Microsoft confirmed plans to replace the current Internet Explorer browser with a new one that should provide a smoother browsing experience.

The new browser has been named “Project Spartan,” and while it's still a work in progress, we've already been able to see it in screenshots and experience its features thanks to the first Windows 10 Technical Preview builds that have been released by Microsoft in the last few months.

With Windows 10 launching this summer, along with its mobile sibling, users should expect Microsoft to continue to improve Spartan browser with new features and tweaks, as we're getting closer to release.

Now since Project Spartan browser is built using universal apps platform, it makes sense to be available across all devices running Windows 10, including Windows 10 for Phones.

Microsoft plans to make the browser adaptive to the platform it is running on, so expect the same level of Internet browsing experience on all devices that can run it.

Starting with the layout, menu and performance, Project Spartan is a well-designed and easy-to-use browser that might end up being one of the best on the market.

Since we've already seen the Spartan browser in action in the latest Windows 10 Technical Preview builds, here is something new for a change.

Search and address bars are now placed in different spots

Polish forum WindowsMania, the same that brought us a first look at what's to come in the next Windows 10 for Phones Technical Preview, has now published several screenshots with the mobile version of Project Spartan.

Two things you'll notice immediately are the fact that the search bar has been moved at the bottom while the address bar is now at the top of the screen.

You can find all the articles stored for offline reading via a new tab called Hub. For the most part, Project Browser does not use the controversial hamburger menu, but Microsoft can decide to change anything about it in the coming months.

Take a look at the screenshots in the gallery and let us know what you think about the mobile version of Project Spartan browser.
