Project Spark, the free-to-play interactive experience coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows 8, won't require an Xbox Live Gold subscription to access its online features, according to its developer.

Microsoft wants to take advantage of user-generated content and it revealed earlier this year Project Spark, a special game that allows players to create all sorts of experiences by themselves.

The free-to-play title will have certain online features, according to Mike Lescault, the community manager of developer Team Dakota, who mentioned on Reddit that all of these multiplayer systems wouldn't require an Xbox Live Gold subscription no matter the platform.

Microsoft has been notorious about the mandatory nature of the Gold subscription for any online service on its Xbox 360, as even free-to-play games like the upcoming World Of Tanks force players to pay for the Gold membership before accessing them.
