"Kickstarter is not a store" and people should realize that

Ever since the media started to promote the fun projects hosted by Kickstarter website, the number of applications has increased and, from what we can gather, this has caused some problems. Long story short, Kickstarter is implementing a new rule system. The site posted them on its blog, entitled “Kickstarter Is Not a Store.”

It's not really an issue with the projects themselves, or the ones behind them. The main pitfall is that people who pledge money to one often think they are actually buying the product, not realizing that the project may fail to gather enough funds, or fail due to some other issues.

Thus, all projects now need a "Risk and Challenges" page, and there need to be images of the current prototype available as well.

That said, simulation videos of what the product is supposed to do are now forbidden, unless the current prototype can do everything shown.

Finally, hardware and product design projects are not allowed to offer multiple regard quantities, since this implies that they are already packed and ready to ship, which they never are.
