The development team at Obsidian announces that its Project Eternity video game has been renamed to Pillars of Eternity and now has an official trailer which shows off some of the core features that players will be able to experience on launch.

The game was funded via Kickstarter contributions and the new name will be used from now on in all promotional efforts related to the old school role playing titles that's set to focus on party mechanics.

Obsidian is constantly communicating with fans and requesting feedback but it has not asked for input related to the name of the game it is working on.

Pillars of Eternity is designed to offer an experience that's close to the classic Baldur's Gate titles but with mechanics that are updated and with an entirely new game universe that features all the core elements of successful fantasy.
