XWiki Enterprise 6.0, a professional wiki that has powerful extensibility features such as scripting in pages, plugins, and a highly modular architecture, has been released with lots of changes and improvements.

The makers of XWiki have launched another version in the latest branch and it brings a ton of new features. This is more than the usual maintenance release and users are advised to upgrade to 6.0 as soon as possible.

According to the changelog, Java 7 is now the minimum required version for the application, the stackedbar and stackedbar3D plot renderers have been added in the Chart Macro, the Panels Application has been added into the Applications Panel, the standard XAR import (in administration) is now based on WikiStream by default, and a new experimental Flamingo skin is now bundled by default.

Also, the administration is now implemented in the flamingo skin, the “advanced” edit modes are now better (object, class, rights) with flamingo, users are now able to import a XAR file of any size, and the Panels Application's home page now uses a LiveTable to display the list of available Panels.
