While SanDisk recently announced plans for the development of the world's highest capacity Secure Digital card, boasting an impressive 64GB of storage, Kingston has just introduced its first CompactFlash Elite Pro flash memory, capable of providing users with as much as 32GB of storage space. According to the memory company, the new CF cards have been specifically designed to allow professional photographers to maximize the performance of their high-end digital cameras with a storage
solution that offers a larger capacity and faster data transfer rates.

“The Kingston 32GB CF Elite Pro card is designed to keep pace with and not limit the productivity of the most advanced digital camera equipment on the market,” said Wendy Lecot, Flash business development manager, Kingston Digital. “Combining the large storage capacity along with fast read and write speeds makes this card ideal for continuous capture and download of images.”

Kingston's CF Elite Pro memory cards come in a wide range of capacities, including 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and the newest 32GB offering. They sport write and read speeds of 25MB/s and 20MB/s, respectively, are offered with a lifetime warranty and are featured with an autosleep mode that is designed to preserve system battery life. The cards are compliant with the CompactFlash Association specification standards and should become a very useful tool for professional photographers, given the provided storage capacity and overall features.

According to Kingston, users who are interested in the new 32GB CF Elite Pro card should be able to get it through the company's reseller partners, for a suggested price of US$154. With this price tag, Kingston's CF Elite Pro card could rival some of those Flash-based Solid State Drives on the market. However, the CF card could enable photographers do to more with less, as the new solution doubles the storage capacity of Kingston's previous generation of CF cards.
