14 DAY TRIAL // Lee Thompson Young killed himself over the weekend, with his body being found yesterday, after he failed to show up for work on the TNT series “Rizzoli & Isles.” The network has shut down production on the 5th season.
Deadline reports that producers are “evaluating the situation” after the actor’s unexpected death.
“The producers of the series, in which Thompson played star Angie Harmon’s partner on the force, are currently evaluating whether to resume production tomorrow or go on hiatus while the cast and crew cope with Young’s death and writers figure out how to write off his character,” the publication says.
Considering that the police series had just been picked up for the 5th season, it’s probably safe to assume that it won’t be canceled but, one way or another, Young’s character will be written off.
As noted earlier today, all signs point to the fact that the 29-year-old actor killed himself but sources say he didn’t have any problems that could have prompted him to such a desperate act.
