Tak Miyazoe, a producer working on Dark Souls 2, says that the way the PC version for the title uses the server infrastructure means that the company might add a new system of world events after it is launched.

He is quoted by Shacknews as explaining that his studio is interested in adding an extra role-playing level to the game.

The From Software developer states, "The Covenants have been improved. The new game servers, based on the beta we had last year, we noticed that there’s a lot of online activity, a lot of players leaving blood messages, a lot of ghosts being seen."

Dark Souls 2 is set to be launched on the PC on April 25 and can at the moment be played on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft.

It's unclear whether the planned world event system for the title can also be delivered on consoles and Miyazoe is not yet willing to offer any other insight into how it might work.

From Software has pledged to continue to support its titles after launch, listening to the feedback coming from fans and devising new content that's specifically crafted to address their needs.
