AlQaedaSec hackers are changing sides almost daily

Supporters of Joseph Kony, the famous Ugandan guerilla leader who uses children as soldiers, have been attacking a number of websites, including the one of Occupy Wall Street (occupywallst.org), NATO Protest (natoprotest.org), US Africa Command (africom.mil) and Invisible Children (invisiblechildren.com).

The hackers call themselves Kony Security, but sources tell us that the collective is actually AlQaedaSec, the group of hackers that, along with UGNazi , has been launching distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks on government sites. The KonySec Twitter account was created after the group’s initial account was suspended.

AlQaedaSec are the ones who took credit for taking down The Pirate Bay, although that attack has been claimed by a number of hackers, including one called Nyre.

The hackers state their reasons for each one of the attacked websites. For instance, the site of the US Africa Command was targeted “for attempting to make money off Kony’s good name without paying the Force.”

Invisible Children are accused by the hackers of making money and spreading lies about Uganda.

“Kony brothers will not let you get away with attempting to take away our drones!” they wrote referring to the attack on natoprotest.org.

They even go as far as telling Anonymous to step out of the way.

So, you may be wondering why alleged hacktivists would attack the site of Occupy Wall Street. They claim that those involved in the Occupy movement are “demanding” Kony’s slaves to make Macbooks and iPads for them.

Apparently, AlQaedaSec changes sides each day. One day they attack the New York City website and then, they turn their attention to those who protest against the US government. Their newest purpose is to “bring justice to the hooligans of the Internet.”

Currently, www.invisiblechildren.com is working properly, invisiblechildren.com being down. US Africa Command is online, but the websites of Occupy Wall Street and NATO Protest are offline.
