Then again, these monitors always do need better than average color coverage

Professional design monitors aren't the same as consumer and business displays. They need better color coverage, good contrast, high brightness, etc. Maybe not all, but at least two out of three, and a bunch more besides.

BenQ seems to have scored all those points with the Pro Graphics Series of widescreen displays.

Right now, there's just a 24-inch model of 1920 x 1080 pixels with 100% CMYK color space and 99% Adobe RGB color space coverage.

A 14-bit 3D Look-Up-Table and better processing technology ensures superior RGB blending accuracy. It might have been better if a White LED was added somewhere into the mix, but BenQ feels the standard 3-color system is fine for now.

Anyway, the Pro Graphics Series also possesses some nice certifications (G7, Fogra and other ISO standard print-quality ones), plus the Delta E≤2, function (brightness uniformity) and hardware calibration capabilities.

Finally, BenQ included a stand with height adjustment and the ability to rotate the panel from portrait to landscape modes. Prices should surface by the end of the month, since sales are supposed to start before the end of September (2013).
