Players in Europe are sure to get a demo of Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 on Thursday, October 2. Konami says the demo will hit the PC, the PS3 and the Xbox 360 at the same time. The demo will probably also become available in North America.

Gamers will be able to play using the real line ups of huge clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona in the demo and there's also an option to play as the national team of either France or Italy. The matches will be limited to five minutes and a multiplayer option will be available. The new game modes introduced by PES 2009, like Become a Legend and the online only Legends, will be showed via trailers in the demo. The graphical aspect of the demo will reflect the way the final release will look, with some minor changes expected in the audio department.

The release has to take on EA Sports football game, FIFA 2009, which has been regarded for years as the most influential simulator available on the market. It plans to do that not by licensing all the teams in all the championships it covers but by creating a more interesting experience, where the gamer’s choices have a bigger impact on the way a season evolves and where graphics accurately reflect a real world player would move on the pitch. PES 2009 manages to create an experience which, at times, is more fluid than that offered by FIFA 2009. It remains to be seen how potential players will cope with the lack of licensed teams.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 will be coming to the PC, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation Portable. The release date for Europe is October 17 and the game will arrive in North America on November 12.
