The development team at Konami working on Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 seems pretty confident that the football simulation game can compete with its main rival, FIFA 14.

The publisher is choosing to launch the game in North, Central and South America on September 24, the same date chosen by EA Sports, according to ShackNews.

The game will be offered on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

At the moment, Konami is not talking about the launch dates for Europe, but considering traditional publisher policy, PES 2014 should be available on September 27.

The new game is powered by the Kojima-developed Fox Engine and is designed to deliver improvements to all aspects of the football simulation.

The ball has improved physics, players behave more realistically and a new Heart system is designed to show how the best players can change the course of a match.
