Konami Digital Entertainment has announced that their football simulation title Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 will be getting its first downloadable content package for free, delivering an update to the roster files of all the teams and with changes coming to the teams that are featured in the UEFA Champions League in the now running group stage.

The new content will be delivered for free for all those who own the game on Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the PC, with the delivery set for today if all goes according to the plan on the publisher's side.

The update package for the game makes sure that all the players that can play for a game are in the roster and that all the teams that take part in the Champions League group stage are added to the dedicated mode in the game with updated states.

The DLC for PES 2011 also delivers new team kits reflecting updates done since the game was launched and four more licensed game boots for the biggest players.

Konami also includes three new wallpapers featuring the star of the game, Lionel Messi, that can be accessed from the Extra Content menu.

The publisher also promises that as the year progresses and as teams change their kits or their rosters it will deliver more DLC packs reflecting the changes, presumably also free of charge.

PES 2011 is locked into a tough race for the title of best football simulation with the EA Sports made FIFA 11.

PES 2011 aims to attract players with a more fluid and responsive video game, complete with a Champions League mode and with club competitions from South America.

FIFA 11 boasts a new Personality+ system which makes players on the pitch perform as their real life counterparts would.
