In the United Kingdom software chart

Another week has begun, so it's time to take another look at the software chart published for the United Kingdom. After three weeks during which FIFA 10 from EA Sports has dominated the chart, managing to even fend off a determined challenge from Nathan Drake and Uncharted 2 from Naughty Dog and Sony, it seems that we have a new leader that looks very much like the old.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 from Konami, another football simulator and the toughest rival of the FIFA franchise, has taken over the top spot in its first week on sale and will probably remain there for a time, maybe until the release of Modern Warfare 2, which comes on November 10.

FIFA 10 did not even manage to hold on to second place as Forza Motorsport 3 from Microsoft has raced its way into that position on its first week on the shelves of game stores. The EA Sports football game sits in third spot and could climb again in the coming weeks. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Game from SEGA has gained one spot to reach fourth place in the chart, while WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2010 from THQ has managed to take over fifth place in its first week, proving that wrestling is not only attractive to American players.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves had a rather precipitous drop with Nathan Drake using his acrobatic skills to anchor the game to sixth spot, while Borderlands, the cooperatively-oriented shooter from 2K Games and Gearbox, has entered the chart in seventh place, just ahead of Wii Sport Resort from Nintendo, which also dropped four places and ahead of Need for Speed: Shift from Electronic Arts.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising from Codemasters has seen the biggest fall in the top ten, going from three to ten, and will probably leave it in the coming week.
