There was talk about a Prison Break videogame some while back but the project apparently never got off the ground to full blown development. But now Kock Media has entered into an agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising regarding a project targeting both the PC and current gen consoles related to creating an original game based on the events of the television series. No release window has been announced.

The player will not be cast as any one of the main characters of the series, as that would reduce the possibility of designing a new and compelling story.

Instead, they will be Tom Paxton, an agent working for the Company, sent to the Fox River State Penitentiary in order to snoop around and see what determined Michael Scofield to turn into a bank robber although he did not have any previous criminal record.

His story is interwoven with the events taking place during the first season of the TV show, allowing him to experience all the crucial elements from his own perspective. It's not clear whether the developers are interested in making this a series of games that will each cover one season of the Prison Break television program.

Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Koch Media, stated that “The ingenious plots and fast action of 'Prison Break' thrill TV audiences around the world, and provide the ideal basis for a video game. The game will offer the same blend of action and suspense as the show, appealing to fans of the series as well as video gamers.”

The developers are saying that all the locations will be taken directly from the television series and that Paxton will be a capable action hero who can move around, sneak and access a lot of secret locations to discover the plot of the game.
