The digital production market has been having a good year, and according to International Data Corporation, the printer industry has been doing well too.

Apparently, worldwide shipments of printers and multi-function printers (MFPs), collectively known as production printers, has increased by 15%.

It didn't really do anything to stop the drop in shipment value (lower 4% on-year), but at least it means that previously minor markets have been evolving.

The Middle East and Africa (MEA) region has experienced an on-year growth of 16.6% (highest of them all), and the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) region had 9% on-year growth.

Total shipments were of 1,300 and 1,500 units, respectively. That's out of 13,000 worldwide. A surprisingly low number, compared to PCs and mobile devices.
