14 DAY TRIAL // It's been 17 years since Princess Diana, one of the most beloved royals, died in a traffic accident that has remained shrouded in mystery and intrigue to this day. After all this time, her wedding dress is going to be handed over to her two sons, William and Harry.
This is done in accordance with her will, which stipulated that the dress was to be “looked after” her brother, Earl Spencer, but it was to be given to Harry upon his 30th birthday, which is on September 15.
The Telegraph reports that this is the dress Diana wore when she said her “I do” to Prince Charles in 1981 and which was designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel. It's a silk and taffeta lace dress, with thousands of pearls, silk layers and a very long train. It's been exhibited around the world as part of an exhibition called “Diana: A Celebration.”
Apart from the famous gown which has become iconic over the years, Harry and William stand to inherit other important artifacts from their mother's collection. These include over 28 dressed belonging to their late mother, two diamond tiaras, as well as “other priceless family jewels,” family paintings, photos, letters and home movies.
But probably the most expensive item remains the check for ten million pounds, which each brother stands to receive on their 30th birthday. Prince William already received his 2 years ago, when he came to the specified age, and now Harry stands to inherit the exact same amount on September 15.
The money is said to be going in a family trust, so it's really not money to be spent at your leisure, but it's still an important boost to one's finances. It's going to add to the Princes' portfolio and it's going to help them along the way in any endeavor they may have in mind.
Harry is no closer to getting married despite the fact that he's tried to find a suitable girl for some years. The main reasons for that are his promiscuity and the fact that he always ends up with girls looking more for the fame associated with dating a royal than actually having a meaningful relationship with a man.
There have been reports that he's found himself the perfect girl, one that looks suspiciously like Kate Middleton for that matter. She is called Camilla Thurlow, she's 25, and she's said to be the spitting image of his brother's wife, Kate. So far, the two haven't been seen together on dates as Camilla is said to be playing hard to get.
