Prince wants to lose his fans at an even more accelerated rate

Prince turned out to be a rather interesting character and might prove to be increasingly interesting. After raging about suing YouTube had it refused to take down a video of a two-year-old that was dancing to one of his 80's hits and threatening to sue his own fans that held three unofficial fansites for alleged copyright infringement, the pop star turned his attention to b3ta.com.

A warning sent by Prince's bulldogs at the Web Sheriff, an agency employed by him and the YMCA band, The Village People warned the site owners to remove images of the artist formerly known as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince or face legal action in the court of law.

"This request is issued without prejudice to all of our client's accumulated, worldwide rights in relation to the infringements specified herein - including, but not limited to, the right to seek injunctive relief, the right to sue for damages and the right to seek criminal prosecutions all of which rights are hereby reserved in full," the note from Web Sheriff reads.

The images are actually likenesses of the artist designed especially to amuse as a response to his threatening to sue the three fansites' owners. "Prince is threatening to sue his fans for breach of copyright [?]. So fire up Photoshop and give [him] something to complain about," the preamble to the latest Image Challenge on b3ta.com reads.

A couple of weeks ago, when I first caught word of the suing spree that Prince was about to go on, I smiled kindly and thought that it was just going to be a whim of the former superstar that just recently made his comeback; however, now it all looks like a werewolf movie where the star is just raging and thrashing at random. The image of Prince has already been shredded to pieces when rumors that he is doing this for money came up, and if that is not a strong enough reason I don't know what is.
