while tapping his head with a small Birretum - a 17th century red cloth cap believed to contain fabric from the reformer John Knox's trousers.
The crowd met him with photoflashes and cheerful applause on his stage appearance, while his father, his step-mom and his royal grandfathers have only clapped and smiled.
