The 23-year-old royalty wearing a traditional black gown and white bow tie has proudly walked in front of his family attending the St. Andrews University Graduation Ceremony.

Sir Kenneth Dover, the St. Andrew Chancellor has called him on stage by the name of William Wales, and declared in Latin "Et super te" ("and upon you")
while tapping his head with a small Birretum - a 17th century red cloth cap believed to contain fabric from the reformer John Knox's trousers.

The crowd met him with photoflashes and cheerful applause on his stage appearance, while his father, his step-mom and his royal grandfathers have only clapped and smiled.

Prince William talked to the press about the special significance of this day, thanking his family and especially to Queen Elizabeth for being so supportive.

The British royal family has now its first member with a master degree, as Prince William graduated the Scottish university with a 2:1 in geography.

Prince Charles has obtained a Cambridge second degree in history 35 years ago, the same with the qualification of his uncle, the Earl of Wessex.

Kate Middleton, his girlfriend, has also graduated St Andrews with a master degree in History of Art, at the same ceremony.

Prince William might soon enlist the army as he has already passed the first round of the Sandhurst tests, the same as his brother Harry.
