The Prince is set to become the head of United for Wildlife

Earlier this week, Prince William announced that he had quit the military. Long story short, he no longer is a rescue-pilot with the UK's Armed Forces.

What's interesting is that the Prince stepped-down from this role in order to spend more time and energy promoting environmental causes. Tree Hugger tells us that Prince William is set to become the new head of United for Wildlife, an organization whose working agenda boils down to ending the illegal trade in animal body parts and endangered species.

“The threats to our natural heritage are extensive, but I believe that this collaboration of the best minds in conservation will provide the impetus for a renewed commitment and action to protect endangered species and habitats for future generations,” the Prince reportedly told the press.

“At the root of the illegal wildlife trade, for example, is the demand for products that require the deaths of tens of thousands of these animals every year, pushing them further towards extinction.”

“We must work together to prevent this catastrophe and allow our children the opportunity to experience wildlife in its many beautiful and varied forms,” he added.

For some reason, I'm pretty sure George Alexander Louis is very much proud of his dad right about now.
