Details on the matter are still sketchy, but it looks like Prince flew into London at the beginning of the week for a series of secret performances to support his latest album “Plectrum Electrum.”

After last year he played in front of huge crowds at the London O2 Arena, this time, Prince took on a more personal approach. His first performance was in the East London home of British soul singer Lianne La Havas, while he and the band 3RDEYEGIRL played two acoustic tracks that Prince calls “funk 'n' roll.”

Next, the singer made an unannounced appearance as the Electric Ballroom, a venue in North London's musical Camdem neighborhood. The crowd was made up of 300 people, but more queued outside on the street as the news broke out.

These are just the beginning acts in a trip that promises to be “open-ended,” as Prince admits “we're going to be here until people don't want to hear us anymore.”
