Prince Harry Steps Out with Pink Nail Polish

Although painted fingernails are no longer a rare fashion statement with male celebrities, none of them has, so far, opted for the girlie pink shade Prince Harry favored for an outing over the weekend. At home for his weekly leave, the Prince went clubbing and proudly displayed his left hand, whose nails had been painted bright pink, the British publication the Daily Mail reports.

The reason for Harry’s choice in terms of a manicure has not yet been established, but, according to what other fellow club-goers are saying, the Prince himself was a bit embarrassed by what he had done. More than once had he tried to hide his hand in his pocket, amidst laughter from others from the club’s VIP area, where he asked to be taken the moment he went in.

“No one knows why he’d painted his nails and the fact that he’d painted only one hand was even stranger. It looked most bizarre and Harry seemed a bit embarrassed by it. He kept slipping his hand in his jeans pocket.” an eyewitness tells the Mail. Moreover, try as he might to keep his visit to the club under the radar, Prince Harry still could not avoid the media, as paparazzi gathered outside the venue the moment word got out that he was there. When they also saw his pink fingernails, the fun the paps had was double, the same publication informs.

“Harry arrived quite late at about 12.30 and didn’t even acknowledge the bouncer when he lifted up the access rope. He clearly wanted as little fuss made as possible about him coming to the club, so no one knows why he was wearing pink nail varnish. He spotted Arabella [Musgrave, Prince William’s ex] across the dancefloor and they chatted for a while, then Harry was shown upstairs. There weren’t many people up there, but he didn’t want to be in the main area. He had some drinks with a few friends and left at about 3.30 in the morning.” another spy says for the same publication.

One theory that is now being circulated in the British media, more as a joke than anything else, is that Harry was actually going for color-coordination: with his pink underwear, which was also on display above his low-waist jeans.
