Prince Charles will give a major interview in an upcoming edition of heavyweight US TV show 60 Minutes.
The British royal has last made such an appearance in 1994, when he admitted to veteran British interviewer Jonathan Dimbleby that he had committed adultery on his late first wife Diana, Princess Of Wales, with Camilla.
Charles hopes he will boost the popularity of his new wife, the Duchess Of Cornwall, in America.
According to a CBS network insider, "the prince was concerned that, considering how well-loved Diana was (in the US), a visit with his new wife would not get much coverage. He basically wants Camilla to have a lot of attention."
The source added: "there were no limits on what we could ask, but it was understood it had to be wide-ranging and not just about Princess Di. He talks about the war on terror, as the interview was shortly after the London bombings, his sons, and of course about Camilla."
