The relationship between Prince and Manuela Testolini Nelson is officially over. The artist's lawyer, Alan Eidsness, stated yesterday that a sealed divorce action has been filed on May 24 at Hennepin County District Court, Minnesota.
The awkward thing is not that the funky artist is getting divorced (he did that once before in 1998) but that he was married. Of course, rumors about a union between Prince and his former employee were often heard.
Nevertheless, the artists always made sure that he infirmed them by saying that he didn't need a useless piece of paper to show his love to Manuela.
It was revealed now that the two were married in 2001 in a Jehovah's Witness ceremony in Hawaii. Fortunately for the case, they didn't have any children. Any information about the reason of the split is unavailable at the moment and it will remain so in the future.
Judge Manrique stated that court documents are to be sealed to protect the privacy of the two soon to be ex spouses. Also, Prince's publicist refused to make any comment on his client's love life.
