Soon, Canadian mobile phone users will be able to enjoy the capabilities of a new mobile phone on the airwaves of Rogers, namely the BlackBerry Torch 9860, and some more info on the matter has just emerged.

For the time being, the wireless carrier did not announce a specific release date for the mobile phone, but rumor has it that this should happen before the end of August.

Yesterday, dummy units were spotted at Rogers stores around the country (at TELUS locations as well), which clearly shows that the official availability date is near.

However, while the launch day is to be confirmed, details on the pricing the mobile phone might sport at Rogers were already made available.

BlackBerry fans interested in the new touch-enabled mobile phone from Research In Motion will be able to purchase it from Rogers for $199.99 with the signing of a contract agreement for three years.

A leaked internal doc from the wireless carrier (spotted at MobileSyrup) unveiled this, along with the off contract price tag for the BlackBerry Torch 9860, which was said to be of $524.99.

“The BlackBerry Torch 9860 smartphone fuses all the power of BlackBerry with the thrill of the all-touch, Liquid Graphics design. So like you, it’s ready to work hard all day and still break free for fun,” Rogers notes on the said leaked document.

The new smartphone comes to the market with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, and hides a 1.2GHz application processor inside.

Moreover, the mobile phone comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities, as well as with a 1230 mAh battery that should deliver increased usage time when compared to the phone's predecessors.

The specifications list of the all-touch BlackBerry also includes Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth and GPS, as well as RIM's new BlackBerry 7 OS, which packs a great deal of high-end features.
