Today, Motorola and Intel announced the first smartphone from the handset vendor to hit shelves with an Atom processor inside.

Dubbed Motorola RAZR i, the smartphone will be released in the UK in early October. The phone will go for £342 with VAT (around $555) SIM-free.

The info comes from online retailer Clove, which has already put the handset on pre-order on its website. Those who would like to reserve a unit before its official release should head to this page on the company’s website.

Motorola’s first Intel-based smartphone runs under Google’s Android platform and is expected to arrive in various European markets next month, while also being planned for launch in Brazil.

The phone packs a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, NFC, a large battery, and all the connectivity capabilities of today’s smartphones.
