With all the news coming out, Acer seems to have decided not to delay things anymore and just go ahead and provide the availability dates and pricing of a pair of tablets it revealed weeks ago.

There seems to be little doubt as to whether or not things on the consumer IT market are picking up, at least for the short term.

For one, with the flow of 6-Series Intel chipsets back to normal, new laptops and desktops are coming forth and getting listed.

MSI, for example, has a gaming machine on sale, and this is besides the laptop and AiO systems based on not Sandy Bridge, but AMD Fusion APUs.

At the same time, NVIDIA and its partners, one of them being ASUS, unleashed dual-GPU GTX 590 GeForce cards with DirectX 11 support upon the high-end segment.

Now, Acer did something quite different, namely provided the pricing and release date of a pair of its own devices.

The products in question are two tablets that were first unveiled weeks ago but only now are actually getting close to being widely available.

To be more specific, the Iconia Tab W500 and A500 will reach stores in Europe and the UK on April 8. A third slate, Iconia A100, measuring 7 inches instead fo 10 inches, will start shipping around May, though its price has not been disclosed yet.

Those seeking a reminder will be interested in knowing that the former Iconia Tab is a Windows-running model, while the latter runs the Android 3.0 operating system, otherwise known as Honeycomb.

A special advantage that the Iconia Tab W500 has over the A500 is the keyboard dock, although said dock is sold separately, for the price of £89 ($144).

Speaking of prices, the Iconia Tab W500 goes for £529 ($855), while the A500 should be buyable for £449. 3G versions should be offered on contract through carriers.
