The Xbox 360 definitely has a lot of features, the most important one among them being the Xbox Live online service, which is one of the most highly used and most popular parts of the Microsoft-made console. Providing great support for multiplayer and a lot of other interesting features, it is a definitive factor when it comes to buying a console.

The service is set, as we found out from Microsoft's E3 press conference, to receive a lot of other features, including support for some of the most popular services on the Internet, like Twitter, Facebook and, last but not least, Last.fm. While we only saw brief demos of these things at the conference, it seems that details about them are slowly leaking out.

Speaking with Joystiq, one of the Xbox Live general managers, Christina DeRosa, has revealed a few pricing details about the upcoming Last.fm service that will be implemented in the online feature soon enough. She goes on to say that there will be differences between the kind of membership a user has and the subscription he is willing to pay for.

“Silver users will be able [to] access what we're considering a trial period of three hours a month, which comes with video advertising. Gold users will have unlimited ad-supported access, so they can use it 24 hours a day. There will also be a premium offering on a subscription basis from Last.fm, that will be commercial free and will also have more sophisticated personalization features, like Loved Tracks.”

Currently, the subscription price of the online Last.fm service is set at 3 dollars, Euros or pounds sterling – depending on your location – per month. Do you think that it will catch on and be popular with Xbox Live users who spend a lot of time on their console? Or will other services, which are free, like Twitter or Facebook, be more successful? Leave us a comment with your opinion.

Well I can't say I'm fond of paying any more than I have to, but why can't Microsoft integrate the price into my online subscription fee. If they plan on releasing more services that require additional fees, then I don't want to have multiple accounts to keep track of. After all I'm a gamer not an accountant. I think that price is a little high when you compare it to to xbox live membership and what you get. Srry, but as of right now your gonna have to do a little better than commercial free and loved tracks to bait this fish.
